Wingspan 24–30 mm. Flies at night from June to August, but is easily flushed from its resting place by day. Lives in uncultivated places, often along the coast. It has been seen on the dike by day, sitting in the heather. It overwinters as a caterpillar, which feeds on many different plants, including Yarrow and Field Wormwood. Common throughout the country, but on Falster mainly in the dike area.
