About this site
Welcome to my website.
Here I share my passion for butterflies – more precisely, the species I have met and photographed over the years around Bøtø on Falster, where we have a summer house. The website is therefore not a complete overview of the area's butterflies – hence the name Mybutterflies.
For each species you will find a featured photo and a short description of its habitat and the time of year when it can usually be seen. A distinction is made between butterflies and moths, but all of them are species you can come across in the daytime.
Over the years, as my interest in these beautiful and fascinating insects has grown, many questions have arisen. I have tried to answer some of them under the menu item Facts.
Along the way I have also photographed other small creatures – a kind of by-catch – which you can also find here on the site. You can also read about the Bøtø area and find good tips on photographing butterflies and other insects.
Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to web developer Martin René Andersen, who has handled the technical side of the website with a steady hand.
Enjoy your butterfly watching!
